Hello Friends:
It is interesting to see the support that ALL Latin american countries gave to Argentina.
In my opinion these islands would return in no time to Argentina if a good embargo were applied on UK. Or, maybe, an extra taxation on all British companies that operate in the continent, to be given to Argentina until UK sits down and negotiates its departure terms.
Saludos para todos, Otto

Hey Otto, nice to see you around. Actually you were the only one who stuck around during all this time!
I'm happy for the support, it's nice from all of you!

All Latin / South America agreeing on a boycott?
Which would probably break international trade rules? And harm them to improve Argentine imperial dreams? For no benefit?
Why not imagine that the EU - an actual united bloc in many ways - would boycott s/l America until they accepted British soverignty of the disputed areas?
Don't imagine that economic pressure would make the UK give up the DEMOCRATIC AND HUMAN RIGHTS of the Islanders.
Or you could try living in reality...and try honest negotiation...

Hello Hutch:
Boycott and embargo is widely used nowadays.
This is far better and much more effective than a war. As for democratic and human rights please report yourself to Diego Garcia.

And they are performed under certain circumstances for certain reasons and need a level of agreement that is very high. In the modern global economy they are not that easy and start to infringe trade rules.
Do you think Brazil will be happy to see her exports decline just because Argentina refuses to approach an issue sensibly and honestly?
Argentina is welcome to try but all it will show is that she refuses to take the case to the ICJ, refuses to use the UN, has no diplomatic, economic or military power and has to get other people to fight her battles for her.
What happened / happens on Diego Garcia does not mean that other peoples human rights and democratic rights should be destroyed or ignored. We may as well say that Argentina can never ever talk about human rights or democracy due to the Dirty War. That would be absurd but it is an example of an easy Argentine tactic to try and distract people from the reality of Argentina's imperial dreams.
