Ernie:
It was meant as a joke. I even left a smiling face next to the comment. I am sorry about the misinterpretation.
Best regards,

Hi there everyone. I've been wondering if a Malvinas-Falklands board would crop up anywhere. Conrado had one for a while but it broke quite quickly. I certanly don't see this as a rival board to the other one, rather another discussion area. With a pro-Argentine slant perhaps? All healthy and good. Hutch.

I really do not see this board as having any real hope of succeeding.
The Islanders are 100% in favour of staying British.
Any future British Government would be committing political suicide if they contemplated handing over sovereignty.
The British public do not easily forget servicemen lost in fighting for their country.
Debate as much as you like. It will not change the situation, and just make you more unhappy.

Evil Kondor,
To paraphrase the much quoted Winston Churchill, "We are two peoples separated by a common language" English and American often have quite marked differences of understanding of words and phrases. No problem.
E
Jessefoxlet,
I agree 100% with what you say. No British Government now or in the forseeable distant future would cede or share Falklands sovereignty. We have history and right on our side whilst Argentina only ever had unfulfilled aspirations and an impossible dream that has become a nightmare for their politicians who generally dare not let go of it as they fear the loss of face, votes and identity.
Having said that this is a harmless place to be and a bit of good debate never harmed anybody. (I dont think!!) I feel as though I am among friends even though we disagree with each other. Who knows perhaps we can convince a few people that we are right.
Personally I do not think that Argentina should drop its claim, that would be a great deal to expect. But I do think the sensible thing for them to do would be to establish normal relations with the Falklands and at least recognise that the Islanders exist and try to co-exist alongside them instead of following their present silly 'confrontational' policy which is a waste of time.
I see that tourist bookings are already up in numbers for the next season in spite of the banning of Charter Flights. Also encouragingly the Chilean Ambassador attended the the official Falklands Representatives annual reception in London as did a representative of the Uruguayan Ambassador and their representatives had dinner with the Falklands representatives at the C24 meeting. So all is not lost, pragmatism and practicality can overcome myth after all.
They should also take the trouble to learn the real history of the Falklands and the weakness of their claim when the facts are examined as oposed to the myths that are propgated in Argentina.
Regards,
Sea Eagle

It seems that we have some peoples from Argentina and South America, and some from Great Britain and US of America. So far it is very interesting, but I do not understand what is the ziel (sorry do not know English word meaning what to hit) of the topics of Falkland Island. I wil read some more.

Hello All
Welcome everybody and thanks in advance for the happy thoughts regarding the lifetime of this forum.
Unlike other forums in which I've been, where my people had been seriously discriminated, both sides of this conflict have completely freedom of speech here.
Just remember not to insult any country please.
Enjoy your stay.

How can you pretend to welcome everybody to your site ? I have been made aware that you have recently blocked at least three IP addresses, thereby banning these people from your site, without giving any reason for this action. You have not even communicated your decision to the people concerned.
What was the "crime" perpetrated by these individuals ?
I see no evidence of "misbehaviour".
Do you wish to sit in a little vacuum with no dissenting voices ? Bit of a one sided debate, I would suggest.
If this is an example of your Argentine negotiation skills, then you have about as much chance is negotiating your way back to the Falklands as I have in becoming President of the United States.

Hello Jesse
No honey, I am not playing games and you should know I have no authority to negotiate for my country. Do you have the authority to negotiate for yours? This is only a friendly forum in which we exchange ideas.
Read the rules, and read the postings which IP's have been banned and you'll understand.
Sakura
PS: The rules are there to be read BEFORE you start insulting.... Just a tip on how the world works ;D

Jessefoxlet,
I do not want Argentina to drop their claim as it would be a false gesture. I would rather they were in my face than creeping up behind me.
By the way your conspiracy to sabotage this site is not worthy of the British forces and I say this as a Falkland Islander.
Defending freedom is admirable sabotaging free speech is not.
As a British European you need to brush up on your geograhy if you think the Falklands are not in the Americas.

Hello Jessefoxlet:
There is nothing wrong blocking insulting messages; it would be the same as blocking your own private email from receiving trash mail.
This site was expected to appear sooner or later, and it was created, I believe, to be free spot for any ideas each person may have. Most of us experienced a heavy censorship before and we could not live with it. You should visit some sites and see by yourself the strong bias present on them; anything said that contradicts a supposed Islander interest (I emphasize supposed because I really don't think this is for their interests) is met with a strong resistance and, without any warning, your password is blocked.
I was expelled myself from a site where I was contributing for 4 years; I suppose it was for my support for the Argentinean claim. On the other side, anyone using far more "robust" words (robust there is an euphemism for insult) was tollerated and even applauded by the "moderator".
You are seeing something that came out from honest people that could not bear censorship. So please, inform yourself a bit more.
Saludos, Maquilishuat

Hello Otto
Do not waste time with her. She's just another teenage troublemaker trying to have some fun. In a couple of days, she'll find a boyfriend and completely forget about this site. Those who are really patriotic and care about their country, know very well that fighting leads nowhere. And we cannot beat the teenage spirit hahahaha so let her be until she finds something more interesting to do. What I really care about are those friends that I knew from long ago, from both sides, and with wich we can exchange really good ideas. This was the purpose of this forum and it's working fine, so just dont worry about them.
Best Wishes Noelia
